Immediately prior to the 60th Annual World Magnesium Conference in Stuttgart, Germany, Frech offered a tour of their facilities. Of course I could not miss this opportunity.
Unfortunately, we visited Frech on Saturday and there were very few people working. It would have been great to see some of the equipment in motion, which no doubt would normally happen during the work week.
The people who were at Frech were more than hospitable, friendly and generous in the tour of their facility. We were even allowed to take pictures throughout their facilities. Of course they can be proud of the machines they build so it is no wonder they allowed the pictures. The machine below is an example of the fine craftsmanship and technical ability displayed throughout their facilities.
They have separate facilities for hot chamber and cold chamber die casting machines. Both had examples of fine equipment and were clean and well organized.
Frech has a very big tooling shop which was also clean and well organized as shown in the picture below. Their tooling capability is very advanced.
